About Rachelle
Rachelle is the president of Mindful Communication based in Victoria, BC, Canada. She has offered communication training to
thousands of people in Canada and the US. Individuals, couples, parents, educators, doctors, health care workers, counselors, private and public sector managers and employees and many others have enjoyed her engaging and illuminating presentations. Her lifelong interest in the evolution of human consciousness and cultural anthropology and her ability to address the unique needs of
the groups and individuals combine to create relevant and powerful learning experiences.
Rachelle has held managerial and administrative positions in both public and private sectors. In the late 80's she turned her attention to cultural anthropology, human development, communication and spiritual growth. Teachers who have been influential include John Holt, Jean Liedloff, Malidoma Somé Ph.D. and Marshall Rosenberg Ph.D.
In 2000, she discovered Dr. Rosenbergs work which marked a significant convergence and turning point. She found that the foundation of Rosenbergs teachings on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) complemented her own work while offering a dimension that she had not yet fully exploredthe power of language in creating the human experience. Rachelle trained with Dr. Rosenberg and in 2002 became certified by the Centre for Nonviolent Communication.
Rachelle is the past president of the British Columbia Network for Compassionate Communication (2002-2003) and continues an active role in projects furthering communication and human development. She has co-trained with Dr. Rosenberg at International Intensive Trainings and is the author and publisher of 'Steps To Conscious Living' (2000) and 'Communication Basics: An Overview of Nonviolent Communication' (2003), and is currently writing a book on the use of NVC in organizations.
